When Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi disappears in Istanbul, his fiancée and dissidents around the world piece together the clues to murder and expose a global cover-up.
Following the success of Icarus, I was entrusted with providing creative direction for the upcoming film The Dissident. Collaborating with Bryan Fogel and the talented team at Odd, we worked to unveil the hidden truths of the global digital landscape and the secrets that unfold behind closed doors.
From the initial pitch, I delivered comprehensive creative direction, crafting a commercial package that encompassed branding and the execution of key sequences throughout the film.
My role involved overseeing the visual storytelling with a holistic approach to branding. I designed the opening and closing title sequences, established the rhythm and style of the Twitter sequence, and developed various visual directions for the portrayal of the killing sequence.
Many of my original design frames carried through to the final shots, as I led the creative direction to refine the approach, ensuring alignment with our production timeline and delivery requirements. I am immensely proud of the collaborative efforts of the team at Odd that brought this vision to life.
